CoreTrace to Host Free Webinar on Application Whitelisting and Its Future Relationship Vis-a-Vis Blacklisting
AUSTIN, TX, Jun 02, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
CoreTrace, the pioneer of client-based application
whitelisting
technology, announced today it will host a live webinar on Thursday,
June 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. EDT. Titled "Application Whitelisting: What
It Is, Why You Should Care, and How Will It Replace/Complement
Blacklisting," the free webinar will feature longtime security
veterans and co-founders of WheelGroup Corporation, Toney Jennings,
president and chief executive officer of CoreTrace, and Dan Teal,
founder and chief technology officer of CoreTrace.
What: Security companies and analysts are hyping application whitelisting
as a critical capability for all future anti-malware solutions.
But what is application whitelisting, and will it replace or
augment blacklist-based products?
This webinar will explain application whitelisting overall, and
outline the critical capabilities that solutions must have for
security and operational success (e.g., preventing memory exploits
in whitelisted applications and enabling frictionless additions of
new and updated applications, respectively).
As an added bonus, Mr. Teal will recap his lively, audience-driven
debate at RSA 2009 with representatives from Symantec, McAfee,
and CA. Mr. Teal and the other panelists were asked whether
application whitelisting would replace or augment blacklist-based
products, and which approach would be the primary anti-malware
defense going forward.
When: Thursday, June 11, 2009
2 p.m. EDT / 11 a.m. PDT
