Copywell installs Canada's First Ricoh Pro VC60000 Continuous Feed Inkjet Production Printer

TORONTO, July 4, 2016 /CNW/ - Copywell, an established 25-year-old commercial print and bindery house, has installed Canada's first Ricoh Pro VC60000 Continuous Feed Inkjet (CMYK) printer.

The Pro VC60000 is the flagship of Ricoh's production print line, providing a level of output, speed, quality and versatility that is simply unmatched in today's competitive landscape. With the market demand clear on its requirement for personalization, customization, versioning and last-minute changes to large print runs, the VC60000 has the dexterity to deliver on all fronts – and with profitability top of mind.

A part of Copywell's regular business included producing a significant number of bound books - a function that alone involved the printing of tens of millions of impressions annually. In an effort to retain tighter control of this work and bring the project completely in-house, Copywell consulted with Ricoh Canada and a number of other manufacturers to see if the technology and expertise was available to manage a change of this magnitude – which meant not only expanding Copywell's in-house capabilities, but ensuring profitability as well.    

After fully absorbing the capailities of the VC60000 – including a visit to the Boulder, Colorado Ricoh Customer Innovation Centre to see the equipment in action – Copywell purchased the VC60000 and has successfully transitioned millions of impressions back into their local operation.
