COPAN Systems Invests in its Team for Global Expansion

LONGMONT, Colo. --(Business Wire)-- COPAN Systems, the leader in persistent data storage based upon its intelligent, enterprise-class enhanced MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) platform, today announced a number of executive appointments intended to drive forward COPAN's aggressive growth plans in Europe and Asia.

Garry Veale has been promoted to Chief Sales Officer, Worldwide Sales and Services, Mick Bradley to Vice President Global Solutions & Services and Martin Firth to Vice President EMEA Sales, all with immediate effect.


New appointments include Tim Pitcher as Vice President, Northern EMEA Sales, Shankar Murukutla as Vice President Technical Services APJ, Carl Elliot as Global Senior Director, Professional Services and Aimee Welstead to Director, International Marketing. Garry Veale - promotion to Chief Sales Officer, Worldwide Sales & Services

Garry has over 20 years of senior level sales management experience in the storage and information management industry. He was part of the initial and very successful EMC UK start up team in 1987. Prior to this, Garry held senior level positions in both sales and marketing at International Business Machines, Hitachi Data Systems and Sun Microsytems.

Mick Bradley - promotion to Vice President Global Solutions & Services

Mick's career spans the management and delivery of complex IT strategies and solutions through to the management of large, operations, pre-sales and service delivery organisations, encompassing market analysis and business planning to execution of plan and over achievement of targets. Previously, Mick managed the technology and service business for Pillar Data Systems EMEA, with revenue growth doubling quarter on quarter.

Martin Firth - promotion to Vice President EMEA Sales

Martin joined COPAN Systems in January 2007 as Vice President of UK operations. He will now have responsibility for all sales in the growing EMEA marketplace. Martin joined COPAN Systems from EMC UK, where he was the Enterprise Sales Director for more than five years.

Tim Pitcher - appointed to Vice President, Northern EMEA Sales

Tim has worked in the EMEA storage industry for over 15 years. He most recently worked for Acopia Networks Inc., where he led the International Sales teams across Europe and Asia and helped build a distribution network of VARs and Integrators who drove demand generation and provided implementation services.

Shankar Murukutla - appointed to Vice President Technical Services APJ

With a successful career in the Asia Pacific IT industry that spans over 15 years, including over 10 years in the storage industry, the addition of Shankar is set to bolster COPAN's expansion and push for leadership in the international storage industry.

Carl Elliot - appointed to Global Senior Director, Professional Services

Carl has spent the last two years helping large enterprise clients to define and execute their global storage strategies from a leading independent storage consultancy. Prior to this, Carl worked at EMC where he built the Professional Services organization across EMEA, developed a partner services function, built vertical market propositions and also led a European wide consulting initiative with Accenture.

Aimee Welstead - appointed to Director, International Marketing

Aimee joins COPAN from Ogilvy and Mather, New York, where she was a Partner. She ran a large team - developing relevant, hard working campaigns for American Express's Business Division. Her specialty for the past 10 years has been direct response marketing where measurement and ROI tracking plays a crucial role.
