Constant Aviation Introduces Supplemental Type Certificate Process for Aircell High Speed Internet System

Nov 09, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Constant Aviation, headquartered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, announced that they have begun the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process to install the Aircell High Speed Internet System on five aircraft types.

The completion of these STC's will provide Embraer Legacy, Gulfstream IV, Citation X, Beechjet, and Piaggio Avanti aircraft with the highly desired Internet System.

"The capabilities of the Aircell system have been something that our customers have been asking for to allow for greater communication. We have continued to see growing desire from aircraft owners to be able to access a full-scale Internet connection during their flights." said Stephen Maiden, President Constant Aviation.

Together the Aircell Axxess cabin communications system and ATG 4000 High Speed Internet unit provide worldwide Iridium voice telephone service and broadband data in the continental United States. Aircell High Speed Internet is a solution in business aviation that provides a true high speed Internet experience that equals what passengers are accustomed to on the ground. It is comparable to a standard broad band, yet it is small and light enough to fit on virtually any business aircraft. The ATG 4000 High Speed Internet unit for business aviation weighs 11 pounds and its two belly-mounted antennae weigh 1.25 pounds each. This new system is in high demand from business aviation operators and aircraft owners.

"After completing the first Aircell Axxess installation with High-speed Internet on the Embraer Legacy 600 earlier this month, we demonstrated our commitment to providing our customers with access to cutting edge technology and are now ready to launch to a broader customer base." continued Maiden.

Constant Aviation is a business aircraft maintenance organization.
