Confluence Launches Automated Prospectus Solution, Reduces Report Creation Time & Effort by Up to 75 Percent

Confluence, a global leader in data-driven managed investment solutions, today announced the launch of Unity Prospectus, an automated solution that eliminates the need for manual typesetting and optimizes efficiency and control in prospectus creation.

By automating the creation and update process, Unity Prospectus eliminates the risk associated with the multi-party, multi-system, manual reporting process that asset managers have traditionally relied upon to develop prospectuses. The solution can also reduce the time and effort spent creating reports by up to 75 percent.

Because Unity Prospectus leverages automated publishing, the typesetter is eliminated and the lag time from raw content to stylized draft is reduced by 99 percent. Unlike working with a typesetter, the content never leaves the system and updates are made in a controlled and audited fashion, improving accuracy and reducing the risk of inadvertent errors that often accompany manual typesetting.

Unity Prospectus drives efficiency and control by enabling asset management reporting teams to divide report preparation into components, work on sections simultaneously and manage the complete process in one system. Individual report sections can then be automatically reassembled into a prospectus for review and dissemination.

The solution includes a content library that allows content to be maintained once and reused across documents within a fund prospectus. It also provides the ability to reuse that content to create new fund prospectuses or update changes across all prospectuses that share content, eliminating confusion and reducing potential for error. Unity Prospectus provides editorial control over final content by enabling final review and assigning validation responsibilities to certain team members.

"Managing prospectus content has longbeen a problem for the fund industry and that problem is compounded by a manual typesetting environment. When creating or updating a prospectus, the process takes too long and, despite all of the hard work, often fails to deliver the consistency in disclosures that the market requires," said Paul Soltis, North American Market Manager at Confluence. "Unity Prospectus solves this problem and improves control, ensures consistency and, most importantly, dramatically reduces the effort required to generate these critical documents from start to finish."

Unity Prospectus provides fund managers with:

  • Content Control: A reusable library allows asset managers to update content once, which automatically applies changes to multiple sections within documents. Workflow notifications identify stale information, giving asset managers control over when to update reports.
  • Style Control: Reduces lag time from raw data to a stylized draft by 99 percent. Report layout, format and style are defined in a controlled template and automatically applied to the user's data, which never leaves the controlled system.
  • Backline Control: Enables multiple team users to identify, track and control changes to stylized content. Historical version control and electronic identification of change mark-ups also removes the line-by-line reviews necessary in a manual typesetting process.
  • Workflow Control: Role-based access and approvals, a robust audit trail and status indicators provide asset managers the control required to effectively manage workflow.
