Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Awarded a $2.3 Million Contract for Over-the-Horizon Microwave System


MELVILLE, N.Y. --(Business Wire)--

August 7, 2014-- Comtech Telecommunications (News - Alert) Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Orlando, Florida-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc., was awarded a $2.3 million contract from a major international oil company to upgrade an existing troposcatter system that is used to communicate from a shore location to an offshore oil platform. Comtech Systems (News - Alert) will be supplying the troposcatter system and will supply its industry leading CS67200i twenty megabits per second (Mbps) modems as well as training and installation support.

Comtech Systems was selected for this project due to its reliable innovative system designs, its long history as a world leader in troposcatter equipment and systems, and its high data rate, field proven troposcatter digital modem technology. The system will be used to carry digital voice, video and data traffic. In addition to its inustry leading CS67200i modem, Comtech Systems will be supplying solid-state high-power amplifiers as well as antennas.
