Comcast Expands Hours at Select Service Centers to Meet Colts Fans Demand for Super Bowl In Crystal Clear HD

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb 03, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- As Hoosiers prepare to cheer on the Indianapolis Colts against the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV this Sunday, Comcast today announced that it is pulling out all the stops to meet increased consumer demand for a High-Definition (HD) viewing experience of the big game.

On Saturday, February 6, Comcast will be extending hours at select customer service centers across the state to give Colts fans extra time to pick up a HD cable box before Sunday night's showdown. The following service centers in Indiana will expand their operation hours on Saturday to be open until 5:00 PM: Indianapolis Noblesville Fort Wayne 7371 N. Shadeland 9750 E. 150th Street, Avenue Suite 1600 720 Taylor Street Fort Wayne, IN Indianapolis, IN 46250 Noblesville, IN 46060 46802 Lafayette Kokomo Bloomington 325 S. Creasy Lane 1002 E. Center Road 2450 S. Henderson Street Lafayette, IN 47905 Kokomo, IN 46902 Bloomington, IN 47401 "Watching the Super Bowl in the crystal-clear clarity of High-Definition is the next best thing to actually sitting in Sun Life Stadium in Miami," said Scott Tenney, Senior Vice President for Comcast in Indiana. "The Colts' Super Bowl run has sent demand for HD service into high-gear and we're happy to meet that consumer demand by extending hours at select service centers across Indiana for those who want to pick up an HD cable box." Comcast will also increase in-person staffing and stock up on HD cable boxes at various retail locations to meet consumer demand, including certain hhgregg and Best Buy stores, enabling customers to pick up an HD cable box at the same time they purchase their new HDTV.

Also, newly added Colts On Demand programming will bring Comcast digital cable customers right to Miami, giving them access to a variety of pre-game activity, such as press conferences featuring Coach Caldwell and top players and highlights from Media Day. Customers can access this content anytime they want just by clicking the "On Demand" button on their remote control, choosing "Get Local," then "Sports" and then "Colts." Like the vast majority of Comcast's more than 17,000 On Demand programs, the Colts content is available to Comcast digital cable customers at no extra cost, with the ability to pause, fast forward and rewind selections.

Super Bowl XLIV will kick off just after 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, on CBS HD, which is carried by Comcast. Comcast offers its customers more HD viewing choices than any other provider, with more than 2,600 selections. To receive HD programming, customers need an HDTV and an HD-capable cable box.
