Kaplan University kicks off its ninth Kaplan University Speakers
Series webinar with Col. Susan Luz, a registered nurse, decorated
soldier and author of The Nightingale of Mosul (Kaplan
Publishing, April 2010). As a top-ranking nurse in the army
reserve, Col. Luz was deployed to Iraq at age 56. She was awarded
the Bronze Star in 2007 for meritorious service in the care of
wounded soldiers, contractors, Iraqi civilians and detainees. In
the interactive webinar titled "One Nurse's Journey: A
conversation with Susan Luz," Col. Luz will discuss her
experiences transitioning from civilian to military life, working
as a public health nurse, becoming a combat nurse and receiving
the Bronze Star.
