Code Green Expands Credit Union Client Roster
(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Code Green Networks, a provider of data loss prevention (DLP) solutions
for protecting customer data and safeguarding intellectual property,
recently announced that Dupaco Community Credit Union and Class Act
Federal Credit Union are among the growing list of credit unions and
financial services organizations deploying its new CI-750 Content
Inspection Appliance.
Launched less than sixty days ago, the CI-750 breaks the
price/performance barrier in DLP -- delivering enterprise-class data
protection to organizations with up to 250 network users for one-third
the cost of other DLP products. Iowa-based Dupaco selected the CI-750
to protect the data of over 49,000 members, and Class Act is using the
product to protect member data of its affiliate network throughout the
state of Kentucky.
According to the Small Business Technology Institute, SMB customers are
at a clear disadvantage when it comes to choosing, purchasing,
implementing and managing an effective data leak prevention solution.
In addition, the complexity behind the various rules and regulations
can be difficult to translate into enforceable policies. Rather than
putting the onus on business owners to understand these regulations and
tailor their policies to monitor for certain security infractions and
specific data privacy violations, the CI-750 embeds this intelligence
into dozens of out-of-the-box data policy templates.
"When we initiated our search to find a DLP product we knew first and
foremost that it had to be an appliance for ease of use purposes, and
we wanted to have as much functionality built into the solution as
possible so we wouldn't have to absorb the cost or learning curve
involved with buying multiple products," said Steve Ervolino, Vice
President of Information Services and Technical Support at Dupaco
Community Credit Union. "Code Green's CI-750 gave us everything we were
looking for and more. The appliance packages up all these capabilities
in one really simple interface, and it even includes a group of
pre-defined templates that help give us a head start on building and
tailoring policies that fit our unique company and industry
requirements."
"Trying to integrate multiple security technologies can be overwhelming
and costly for a company our size, and it's something we definitely
wanted to avoid as part of our data loss prevention strategy," said
Jonathan Buchholz, Vice President of Information Technology at Class
Act Federal Credit Union. "Code Green was the only solution we found
that delivered everything we needed in one box. Installation and
configuration was easy and straightforward, and activating the
integrated encryption capability was as simple as checking off a box in
the policy settings. Code Green understands the needs of smaller
organizations like ours, and the functionality and value we received
with the CI-750 is proof of their expertise."
The CI-750 resides at an organization's Internet gateway, monitoring
content flows on the corporate network and automatically enforcing data
protection policies to log, alert, retain, block, encrypt or re-route
transmissions across all popular Internet communications channels.
Integrated on-board encryption capabilities and intuitive policy
wizards further simplify deployment while advanced WebMail filtering
surpasses the capabilities of traditional DLP products.
The appliance form factor maximizes throughput, adding negligible
latency to TCP traffic while ensuring protection for up to 20 million
elements of data stored in databases and structured files, and up to
250 Gigabytes (GB) of data across more than 400 different file formats
including Microsoft Office documents, software source code, CAD
drawings, image files, rich media and industry-specific application
formats. The CI-750 monitors Email (SMTP), Web, Secure Sockets Layer
(SSL), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), online tools such as Blogs and
Wikis -- and all popular WebMail services including Google Gmail, MSN
Hotmail, AOL Mail, Windows Live Mail and Yahoo! Mail.
