Cocktail Reception, Discussion to Consider School Choice Policy

Reason Foundation will host a reception with a panel discussion covering the current evidence for school choice on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Reason Foundation headquarters.

The evening, titled "The Case for School Choice in 2018: Tackling the Most Persistent Arguments Against School Choice and Why They are Wrong," will be live streamed at reason.com and recorded for a later release by reason.tv.

The panel will include Matt Ladner, senior research fellow at the Charles Koch Institute; Jason Bedrick, director of policy for EdChoice; and Lisa Snell, director of education for the Reason Foundation.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

"Media accounts often do not offer a fair and accurate picture of school choice policies and the many positive stories and outcomes for famlies that participate in school choice," said Lisa Snell of the Reason Foundation. "Reason Foundation's 2018 National School Choice Week event will revisit some of the most prominent arguments against school choice and set the record straight about why they are wrong and why there is growing demand for even more education options for students and their families."

The Reason Foundation headquarters are located at 5737 Mesmer Ave. in Los Angeles.

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
