[October 16, 2008] CMCC to exploit M&A opportunities in emerging markets Tweet BEIJING, Oct 16, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), parent company of China Mobile (0941.HK; CHL.NYSE) , has the intention to make mergers and acquisitions abroad, but will be prudent in doing this in current market circumstances and study the possibility of M&A in emerging markets, said Wang Jianzhou, chairman of the leading telecom operator in China. Currently, CMCC boasts abundant cash flow, which is enough to withstand impacts from by global economic crisis effectively. Wang had revealed previously that his company would focus on emerging markets, with Asian countries, such as Pakistan, as their top choice, and African countries ranking second.
