Closed for the holiday

Jul 02, 2009 (The Wenatchee World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Here is what's open and what's closed Friday and Saturday for the Fourth of July holiday: Banks: Banks will be open regular hours on Friday and will be closed Saturday.



Buses: Link Transit buses will not run Saturday. Free Link shuttles will run from 8 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. Saturday from Shopko on Maple Street to the corner of Miller and Walla Walla streets, for the Wenatchee fireworks show at Walla Walla Point Park. Grant County Transit will not run Saturday. Route 35 to Grand Coulee Dam for the laser light and fireworks show and fireworks will not run this year.

Garbage service: Waste Management of Greater Wenatchee will run regular collections, but the Wenatchee Transfer Station will be closed Saturday.



Government offices: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed Friday. Driver and vehicle licensing offices that are open Monday through Friday will be closed Friday. Offices open Tuesday through Saturday will be closed Saturday.

Library: The Wenatchee and East Wenatchee public libraries will be closed Friday and Saturday.

Liquor stores: State liquor stores will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Medical facilities: East Wenatchee walk-in clinic will be closed Friday and Saturday. Columbia Valley Community Health's walk-in clinic will be closed Friday.

Museums: The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center will be closed Saturday. Cashmere Pioneer Village and Museum will be open.

Ohme Gardens: The gardens will be open.

Postal Service: Wenatchee and most other post offices will be open regular hours on Friday, although some will close at noon Friday. No mail will be delivered Saturday.

Shopping: Stores at Wenatchee Valley Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Most stores at Valley North Center will be open shorter hours, but some may be closed (call ahead). Most downtown Wenatchee stores will be closed, but some restaurants may be open (call ahead).

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society: The Humane Society will be closed Saturday.

The Wenatchee World: Offices will be closed Saturday, but circulation employees will answer phones from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
