Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance, high-availability network security for the telecom, cloud and enterprise sectors, together with Artesyn Embedded Technologies, a global leader in embedded computing solutions, are demonstrating their next-generation Virtual Security Gateway (News - Alert) solution for MNOs and cloud providers at Mobile World Congress 2016.

The Artesyn Virtual Security Gateway solution for MNOs and cloud providers integrates Artesyn MaxCore™ (https://www.artesyn.com/computing/products/product/max-core) platform technology with Clavister's security software, to deliver high performance in virtualized environments, enabling dramatically reduced operating costs. The solution combines multiple security applications for LTE (News - Alert), packet core and mobile data networks on a single platform, to give MNOs a unified carrier-grade solution. The platform easily scales from small, low cost edge installations to large cloud installations,

The solution is a result of the collaboration between Clavister and Artesyn that was announced in 2015. Clavister's virtualized security software is integrated onto Artesyn's computing hardware, giving secure platforms of unprecedented performance and capacity. The two companies continue to develop combined solutions for securing next-generation IT and communications infrastructures.

Jim Carlsson, CEO of Clavister said: "As operators roll out their 4G/LTE networks, it is critical that they do so securely in order to protect mobile services and data against attack and interception. Working together with Artesyn, we have been able quickly develop a carrier-grade security platform that gives network operators an advanced, fully-scalable solution for protecting their infrastructure, while enabling signifcant cost savings on equipment"

Clavister recently announced its new P80 unified telecom appliance, a purpose-built solution for securing 4G/LTE network environments against costly security incidents such as DoS attacks, privacy intrusions and overbilling attacks, offering market leading reliability of up to six nines (99.9999%) availability for demanding applications.

It is the latest addition to the Clavister solution suite for securing next-generation mobile networks, which offers complete, virtualized, fully scalable security for 4G/LTE and Evolved Packet Cores. Clavister's modular, high performance architectures ensure that securing mobile networks does not compromise performance or create bottlenecks, and enables MNOs and TEMs to:

· Protect backhaul traffic in LTE networks with IPsec encryption and firewalling at scale, to secure data traffic from both macro and small cell environments to the network core

· Secure mobile networks from threats and attacks targeting the GPRS Roaming Exchange (GRX) network, protecting MNOs against potentially costly security incidents such as DoS attacks, privacy intrusions and overbilling attacks

· Secure the Gi interface to the public Internet, protecting mobile networks against being targeted by malicious parties using DoS techniques, and against hijacking of a device or mobile station's IP address

· Enable secure, manageable data offload onto low-cost WiFi networks
