(Western Mail (Wales) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) STEADY SPEED TRANSPORT group Go-Ahead said full-year expectations for its bus and rail operations remain unchanged after a "robust" period of trading in the quarter to September 27.



Regional bus passenger journeys were flat on a year earlier but revenues for the division, which carries nearly two million passengers a day on a fleet of around 4,600 buses, rose 5% due to contract activity.

CYBER DEAL BAE Systems is to acquire US-based SilverSky, which provides internet services including email protection and network security, in a deal worth US$232.5m (Pounds 144.4m). Its customer base includes about 5,500 customers in the financial services, retail, healthcare, energy, critical infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. The business will boost BAE's Applied Intelligence commercial cyber security division.


STERLING IMPACT ENGINEERING firm GKN said sales of Pounds 1.8bn for the three months to September 30 were 3% higher on an organic basis, offset by a Pounds 119m hit from sterling's strength against most major currencies.

The Redditch-based company, which makes drive shafts for almost half of all new cars, said third quarter trading profit increased to Pounds 160m, an underlying rise of 14%.

BETTER RESULTS BOOKMAKER William Hill said sports revenue growth in the quarter to September 30 was significantly boosted by a year- on-year swing in its win margin.

Favourable sporting results, including a strong end to the World Cup, meant overall group revenues were 23% higher and operating profits rose 89% in the third quarter of its financial year.

WATER SWITCH WATER W utility Severn Trent is to recruit the interim chief financial officer at drug firm Shire, which saw its Pounds 32bn acquisition by US rival AbbVie collapse last week.
