Cisco WebEx announces new pricing model to meet business demand for flexibility


Customers now able to invest in one to nine Meeting Center licenses online - providing greater purchasing choice for all business users

London, UK, 16th December 2008 - On-demand collaboration leader WebEx, now part of Cisco (News - Alert), today announced a new pricing model for its flagship online meeting platform, Meeting Center, giving users greater choice in how they buy and use the service. The move reflects changing demands from customers, who require added flexibility to react quickly and nimbly to any changes in the market.


Responding to growing demand, Cisco WebEx has updated its pricing model to allow customers to purchase web conferencing accounts for one to nine hosts on-demand, direct from the WebEx website. The change reduces the previous minimum number of hosts per purchase from five to just one, allowing individual business people to enjoy all the benefits of online meetings, and allows payment on a monthly basis as well as by annual subscription. The new model means that users have even greater flexibility in how they use the WebEx service, making it simple to increase or reduce monthly usage in line with business needs.

WebEx Meeting Center allows participants to host business meetings virtually via the internet, helping employees increase contact with customer and colleagues whilst, reducing travel costs and boosting productivity. Users can securely present information, share applications, give demonstrations and collaborate on projects from any internet connection in the world. It also has the additional functionality of multi-point video, using a web cam, to make meetings more interactive and personal as required.

Meeting Center is now available for £33 a month on a Prepaid Annual Plan, or £38 if paid for on a monthly subscription, compared to £42 previously.
WebEx Meeting Center allows any business to hold interactive online meetings at any time, from any location to anyone in the world, increasing reach, reducing costs and boosting productivity. Participants can make presentations, share applications, and update spreadsheets with integrated audio conferencing and give other attendees a real-time visual reference with multi-point video with no additional hardware or software required.
