At Cisco Systems Expo 2007: Unified Communication by Italtel

Milan, March 2, 2007 – Italtel, a leading provider of solutions, products and services for new generation IP networks, is to participate in the Cisco Expo being held on 7-8 March in Milan. A longstanding partner of Cisco, Italtel will be present with its own stand in the exhibition area and will take part in debates and seminars on competitiveness and technological innovation. And Italtel’s Chief Executive Officer, Mauro Righetti, will be the host at the round table on 8 March at 10.00am and titled: Innovating to compete in the global market.

“Unified Communication is radically changing the way companies communicate and Italtel is the driver of this process of evolution,” says Mauro Righetti, Chief Executive Officer of Italtel. “In 2005 we launched the IN-BVS solution, which essentially created the market for “managed” IP communication services, and today this is still the only solution available for operators and large corporations. Now that the large enterprise’s market has finally got underway, as the study on the spread of VoIP in Italian companies carried out by Bocconi University in Milan has shown, Italtel has created a solution of Unified Communication and integrated security, aimed at small-medium enterprise and enhanced with fixed-mobile convergence services and IT communication applications.”

A highlight of the show will be Italtel’s presentation of its Unified Communication solution, integrated with the advanced communication applications of Microsoft (News - Alert)’s Live Communication Server (LCS) platform. This solution enables companies, public administration and banks to streamline teamwork and communication between people and company functions and eliminate boundaries between different devices, such as personal computers, fax machines, fixed and mobile telephones and videoconferencing facilities.

During the first day – Technology Day – Italtel is to host the technological session on Unified Communication (2:00-4:00pm). Francesco Sbarsi – Head of Public Sector & Large Enterprise Marketing di Italtel – will contribute to the debate, focusing on mobility in fixed-mobile convergence, the integration of TLC platforms with IT applications, and the evolution of Unified Communication solutions towards WEB 2.0 logic, extending services to mobile users.
