CIO Connect Appoints High Profile Editor for Membership Magazine

2nd September 2008, London, UK – CIO Connect today announced the appointment of experienced business computing journalist Mark Samuels as the new Editor of CIO Connect magazine. Mark, a long-time Editor with business technology magazine Computing, will be responsible for the continued development of the CIO Connect membership publication, which takes an in-depth look at the issues facing CIOs and their teams.

“The CIO Connect membership has a wealth of experience both in the UK and increasingly internationally,” commented Mark. “I am looking forward to meeting these members and sharing their experiences and insights on today’s big issues through the pages of the magazine.”

Nick Kirkland, CEO of CIO Connect, added: “We are committed to providing our members with the very highest levels of service in every area. Many of our members will already be familiar with Mark as one of the UK’s most informed business computing journalists. I am delighted that he has now joined our team to bring his expertise to our membership editorial services.”

Mark joins CIO Connect from Incisive Media, where he was Editor of Computing Business and Features Editor for Computing magazine. Mark has written and edited a wide variety of specialist technology supplements, covering subjects such as outsourcing, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), green computing, recruitment, and training and development.

The appointment is further evidence of investment in high quality CIO membership services following a management-led buy out of CIO Connect from the National Computing Centre in February this year. CIO Connect offers tailored networking services and facilitates experience sharing between members, as well as leadership development training, for top CIOs in major organisations based in the UK.
