China Telecom Builds Smart City Cluster Access Platform


JIANGSU, Jul 24, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China's first comprehensive provincial access platform of smart city cluster was put into operation in Jiangsu on July 23.

Based on the new-generation information technologies, such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing and Ipv6 and many channels including fiber broadband, WIFI, 3G, etc, the project will provide smart applications and comprehensive services to the government and society in many aspects (such as government affairs, economy and the people's livelihood) through a provincial main station, 13 municipal substations and a service application platforms covering all counties, cities and districts.



China Telecom Corporation, Ltd. (SEHK: 0728, NYSE: CHA) has promised to invest CNY 18 billion in three years and focus on 16 major fields to accelerate the informatization development in Jiangsu. The establishment of the smart city portal is one of the company's key projects.
