China Telecom 3G Users Rose by 2.8mn in JuneBEIJING, Jul 23, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Telecom Corporation Ltd. (SEHK: 0728; NYSE: CHA) announced on July 20 that by the end of June 2012, the total number of its CDMA (code division multiple access) users surpassed 144 million and 3G users increased to 50.94 million. Data shows that in June 2012, China Telecom CDMA users grew by 2.82 million, of which 3G users accounted for 2.8 million. The net monthly growth of 3G users went beyond 2 million for 12 straight months and nearly contributed to the total increment of CDMA users. In terms of fixed network, by the June 2012, the number of China Telecom local phone users reached 167 million, decreasing by 310,000 from the previous month.
