China, EU to create cleaner coal power(UPI Business News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)China and Europe are set to pledge to create more environmentally safe energy projects, including low-emission coal technology. The European Commission announced the safe-coal technology pact Sunday and the Xinhua news agency reports it is scheduled to be signed this week in Shanghai at a the 6th EU-China Energy Conference. China and Europe have worked together in the past to clean up coal power and create more energy efficient and renewable technologies. The latest project will be to create a way to keep carbon dioxide byproducts of coal-fired energy stations in a below-ground storage area. |
