Centurion Medical Products and Medline Industries, Inc. Announce Sales Agreement to Expand SorbaView SHIELD Securement Dressings to U.S. Acute Hospital Market

Healthcare industry leaders Centurion Medical Products and Medline Industries, Inc. have entered into a sales agreement that leverages the performance excellence of Centurion's SorbaView SHIELD® Securement System catheter dressings with Medline's kitting and distribution capabilities. The alignment of both companies' sales forces simplifies the process for U.S. customers to order SorbaView SHIELD in Medline sterile kits.

The SorbaView SHIELD combines the proven performance of Centurion's patented SorbaView dressings with its proprietary SHIELD securement technology. This results in one easy-to-apply product that stays in place to protect the site and reduce dressing disruptions while securing and stabilizing the catheter. SorbaView SHIELD is clinically proven to reduce unscheduled PIV restarts by up to 91 percent.1

The demand for the SHIELD has been unprecedented. Many of the major hospital systems in the U.S. already use Centurion's patented SHIELD dressings to secure catheter sites. Tomeet the rapidly growing demand and give customers more flexibility, Centurion is partnering with a select group of the top U.S. kit packers to include the SHIELD in their sterile trays. Medline has been selected as the first of these partnerships.

Tom Archipley, CEO of Centurion Medical Products, commented, "We are extremely pleased with our agreement with Medline. Our partnership will allow a larger number of U.S. hospitals to have access to the SHIELD in their kits. SorbaView SHIELD dramatically improves catheter site security and integrity resulting in fewer catheter complications and dressing disruptions. This reduces contamination risk and the amount of discomfort a patient needs to endure, so patient satisfaction goes up and costs go down. Through the joint efforts of our exceptional sales forces, more patients, caregivers and hospitals will get to realize these benefits."

"For nearly 30 years, our companies have competed and grown in the marketplace," said Dante Tisci, division president, Medline. "Through this unique collaboration with Centurion Medical Products, we can provide even greater kitting capabilities to our customers by leveraging the collective strength of both companies and their sales forces."
