Celio REDFLY Mobile Companion Revolutionizes Mobile Virtualization and Remote Access for the Smartphone

SALT LAKE CITY --(Business Wire)-- The REDFLY Mobile Companion(TM), from Celio Corp., is revolutionizing the Mobile Virtualization and Remote Access industry with its ability to provide a larger screen and keyboard enabling workers to expand their smartphones into fully functioning mobile terminals.

The company's flagship product is the award-winning REDFLY Mobile Companion, a ground-breaking new device that extends the Windows Mobile smartphone platform to a larger display, keyboard, and touchpad mouse using REDFLY's universal software and hardware technology.

REDFLY is a critical new solution to the enterprise mobile market because it gives mobile terminal functionality to the smartphone without increasing Total Cost of Ownership, the security risk of data loss or network access because all data and applications remain on the smartphone. For the first time, smartphone users can access a virtualized desktop or applications via their phone using a portable and wireless device with an 800 x 480 pixel screen, full keyboard, touchpad and eight hours of battery life.

REDFLY works well with the industry's current smartphone remote access and virtualization offerings including Citrix(R) ICA(R), Microsoft's RDP, Stoneware's webOS, Citrix(R) GoToMyPC(R) and LogMeIn.

"The Citrix vision is a world where anyone can work from anywhere and increasingly that means people want to use their smartphones to access applications hosted on XenApp and XenDesktop. The limitation has been that many applications need a keyboard and larger screen to be productive," said Chris Fleck , vice president of Solutions Development, Citrix Systems, Inc. "We believe the REDFLY is a part of a small group of promising products that deliver on the concept of the Nirvana Device, which enables a full-size keyboard and screen from a smartphone that fits in your pocket."

Citrix has 99 percent penetration in the Fortune 500. Its Citrix(R) XenDesktop(TM) and Citrix(R) XenApp(TM) products provide a flexible, cost-effective solution for corporations, providing them with full control of the Windows desktop environment as well as the ability to deliver individual applications that are custom-tailored to a corporation's needs.

"REDFLY is an ideal solution for Mobile Virtualization in that it makes maximum use of the smartphone's capabilities without the setup and configuration or the backup and management of an ultra mobile PC," said Kirt Bailey, Celio president and CEO. "Whereas the small screen and form factor of the smartphone has made it an impractical solution for remote computing, the REDFLY is completely turning that equation around. For mobile workers and for enterprises, these new capabilities are some of the biggest factors that are driving their purchase decisions for REDFLY."

For companies and users who are interested in more information about the REDFLY's use in Mobile Virtualization, Celio Corp. has issued a free whitepaper, "Mobile Virtualization and Remote Access on Windows Mobile Smartphones" that readers can download from http://www.celiocorp.com/remoteaccess/
