Celcom Axiata announces several key appointments [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]


(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd yesterday announced several key appointments, including that of Zuraida Jamaluddin as its new chief corporate officer.

Zuraida will oversee the corporate initiatives in Celcom, besides strengthening and unifying the capabilities of the organisation as a whole.

She holds a degree in electrical engineering from George Washington University, Washington DC, the United States.

Zuraida brings with her more than 25 years of experience in the areas of business development, management consultancy, sales, business solutions and systems integration.

She was previously the director of sales for Mesiniaga Bhd and went on to Renoir Consulting (Malaysia) as its managing director prior to joining Celcom.

Celcom group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said the company is committed to rejuvenating and empowering its workforce, developing talent and grooming future leaders for greater success.

Meanwhile, Suresh Sidhu has been promoted as the CEO-designate of edotco, effective July 1.

He was formerly chief corporate and operations officer of Celcom. With the move, Suresh will be assuming a bigger role at Celcom's sister company.

Suresh will assume the CEO position on August 26.




As CEO, Suresh will work towards establishing edotco as a world- class infrastructure company in the region.


This is part of the ongoing effort to develop internal talent in line with the group's wide talent development programme in leveraging the knowledge and expertise of its management team across the Axiata group and its business partners.

Another two key appointments are Afizulazha Abdullah as the new chief business services and solutions officer and Datuk Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin as chief customer experience program officer.

Afizulazha was formerly chief digital services officer while Noor Kamarul was formerly chief carrier collaboration.

Jefri Ahmad Tambi has been appointed as chief corporate communications and government liaison officer. He was previously chief business solutions officer.
