User Experience Expert to Address Unique Design Demands of Applications Delivered On-Demand Over the Internet

San Mateo - February 14, 2008 - Catalyst Resources, a leader in user interface design for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, today announced that Paul Giurata, managing partner, will be a featured roundtable panelist at the Red Herring (News - Alert) North America 2008 Conference, May 13th 2008 in San Jose, CA.

Giurata will be speaking on the "Enterprise software - The Online Revolution" panel, which will address the accelerating shift from monolithic enterprise applications to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)). The panel take place at the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose, CA, on Tuesday, May 13 - 12:00-12:45 - Room C.

SaaS has been one of the enterprise software industry's hottest buzzword over the past few years. Gartner (News - Alert) Research estimates that SaaS will grow seven times faster than on-premise software deployments during the next three years. But as organizations look to make their move to on-demand, they need to be aware of the opportunities and pitfalls of application design that are unique to SaaS.

Transitioning to a SaaS is not as simple as merely repackaging an enterprise product on the Web. On the one hand there are the technical and operational issues of implementation. On the other, are the issues of application design and user experience that determine customer demand, productivity, and loyalty.

Catalyst Resources is delighted to have Paul Giurata take part in the Enterprise Software roundtable for Red Herring North America 2008," said Michelle Mon-Pere, director of business development at Catalyst Resources. "Paul is viewed as a thought-leader and innovator in the SaaS and RIA space, and his depth of application design experience will bring valuable perspective to the panel."
