C.A.S.E. backs new simple access, low -cost e-safety compliance solution for smaller airlines

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) For the first time smaller airlines can now access the same "real time" electronic safety management software as their much larger counterparts.

Vistair, the leading provider of web-based safety, efficiency and compliance software to the global aviation industry, has launched a simple access, low-cost version of its market-leading SafetyNet Enterprise software used by airlines including Emirates, easyJet, Ryanair and Flybe.

The move to launch the new software package, called SafetyNet Cloud, has been backed by the Corporate Airline Safety Executive (CASE) which promotes safety amongst smaller airlines.

Malcolm Rusby, head of safety at TAG Aviation and founding member of CASE, described SafetyNet Cloud as "flexible and robust", adding: "Rather than just operate a paper-based safety management system this new software enables smaller carriers to access the same sort of electronic monitoring and reporting software as the big commercial airlines.

"It's a massive leap forward for our part of the industry, enabling smaller airlines to have full safety electronic reporting capabilities and the ability to distribute incidents for input from any stakeholder.

"It's a very clear auditing process and I have to say it's brilliant. Vistair is a company steeped in the aviation culture and they have come up with a simple-access, low cost solution which is both flexible and robust and will, I'm sure, breed safety-conscious attitudes within smaller airlines." Built on the same core technology as the larger SafetyNet Enterprise, SafetyNet Cloud is tailored to meet the demands of smaller businesses, delivering compliance for any user from Part 121/135/91 operators through to smaller airlines needing to operate a safety management system (SMS).

Vistair CEO Ian Herbert explained that he and his team worked with several existing customers in both the business aviation and smaller airline sector, including TAG Aviation, in order to develop SafetyNet Cloud.

"We recognised that for smaller carriers it can be costly to have a full-blown bespoke SMS integrated into their operations, therefore our starting point for SafetyNet Cloud was that it had to be both an easy entry point and a cost-effective investment," said Mr Herbert.

"It also had to provide all the compliance and management features required by the regulators, and pre-configured specifically for the customer's environment and tailored so that it is easy to own, manage and operate." SafetyNet Cloud is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing software and to be used on a low-cost subscription basis, providing operators with the peace of mind that their airlines are fully compliant but without the requirement for a large-scale investment in a bespoke service.

"All our solutions are hosted on the cloud," continued Ian Herbert. "That means there are no infrastructure costs, no maintenance costs and no consulting costs to customise the product to suit your needs.

"We host everything ourselves meaning subscribers just pay one monthly fee and nothing else - all you need to do it use it, improve your regulatory compliance and fly safely!" he added.

Both SafetyNet and SafetyNet Cloud offer full SMS capabilities, including: o Full safety reporting capabilitieso Full investigation functionality o Distribution of incidents for input from any stakeholder o Auto-notification to regulatory bodies (where necessary) o Collation of all investigation recommendations o Full audit trail of processes o Closure and storage of all historic data for easy retrieval o Management reporting o Full integration into Air Safety Central for community-based safety learning For more go to www.vistair.com NOTES TO EDITOR: Users of Vistair's market-leading web-based services include: BA Emirates BMI easyJet Thomas Cook Aer Lingus Flydubai DHL Air Flybe Jet2.com TAG Aviation Netjets Vistair's airline and airport safety management systems include: "SafetyNet", the web-based airline safety reporting system "Touch", the comprehensive operations web-based notice management system and portal "Electronic Flight Operations Manual Services", the online solution to providing and updating all airline manuals to provide better compliance, including the manual systems for the latest Airbus A380 super jumbo "Document Library Service", providing a global delivery of paper compliance "Airfield Briefings", that provides invaluable audio-visual briefings for pilots for individual airports.
