Canback & Company Names Arshad Abba as South Africa Country Manager [Manufacturing Close - Up](Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Canback & Company reported that it has appointed Arshad Abba as South Africa Country Manager. In its release, Canback & Company said that Abba will head the firm's new Johannesburg office and oversee operations and business development in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Starting Sept. 15, Abba will join a global team of consultants who will support him as he takes on the task of building the office. Staffan Canback, Managing Director of Canback & Company, said: "Our consulting firm has seen spectacular growth in Africa over the past few years. We are therefore delighted to open an office in Johannesburg to serve South Africa and the rest of the continent. Our capability to combine a top management perspective with analytical robustness has proven highly successful in Africa. Arshad will add to this capability with his strong managerial experience and a quantitative mindset." Abba, a South African national, joins from Absa (Barclays Africa Group Limited) where he served as Head of Portfolio Analytics since 2009. He was responsible for overseeing the risk appetite and stress testing frameworks and the overall management of capital reporting activities. Abba was a member of Barclays Africa Risk Executive Committee since 2011. He also has six years of consulting experience with Deloitte and Ernst & Young in Johannesburg.
