Cambridge President Amy Webber Elected to Serve as Vice Chair for the 2015 Financial Services Institute Board

FAIRFIELD, Iowa --(Business Wire)--

Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. (Cambridge) announced President Amy Webber has been elected to serve as Vice Chair for the 2015 Financial Services Institute Board (FSI) and Chair of the Board in 2016. FSI is an advocacy organization for independent broker-dealers and their affiliated independent financial advisors.

Webber brings over 25 years of industry experience as she partners with FSI and its members to advance their primary goal of using focused advocacy to help independent financial services firms and affiliated financial advisors. The mission of FSI is to ensure that all individuals have access to competent and affordable financial advice, products and services delivered by the growing network of independent financial advisors and independent financial services firms.

"I am truly honored to be elected to serve as the 2015 Vice Chair for the FSI Board," said Webber. "I am energized by the impact I have witnessed in the past year as I served as a Director on the FSI Board. I look forward to continuing the important work we are doing to help effect change and create opportunities for more individuals to have access to quality financial services."

Members of FSI direct their advocacy efforts toward Washington, D.C. and the states where they engage with regulators and legislators in their grassroots efforts to create positive change in financial and state legislation. Since its inception in 2004, the organization has grown to encompass 100 independent financial service firm members and 37,000 financial advisor members.

Webber is one of 16 financial services leaders on the FSI Board and will assume her role as Vice Chair with FSI on January 1, 2015.

About FSI
The Financial Services Institute (FSI) is the only organization advocating solely on behalf of independent financial advisors and independent financial services firms. Since 2004, through advocacy, education and public awareness, FSI has successfully promoted a more responsible regulatory environment for 37,000 independent financial advisors, and 100 independent financial services firms who represent roughly 160,000 affiliated financial advisors. FSI and its members effect change through involvement in FINRA governance as well as constructive engagement in the regulatory and legislative processes, working to create a healthier regulatory environment for our members so they can provide affordable, objective advice to hard-working Main Street Americans.
