(The Star Press)First Merchants names executive vice president

MUNCIE -- David W. Spade has joined First Merchants Bank as executive vice president and chief lending officer.

He will oversee the division heads for the commercial, mortgage, retail and credit departments.

Spade has more than 30 years of experience in banking. He began his career with American National Bank in 1975 as a management trainee, later becoming branch manager, commercial loan officer, senior commercial loan officer and senior vice president and division head. Most recently, he was executive vice president and division chief credit officer for Old National Bank.



He is a 1975 graduate of Ball State University, president of Family Services of Delaware County and recipient of the Muncie Jaycees Distinguished Service Award.

Tech Tuesday talk to cover trends, outlook



MUNCIE -- Techpoint Tech Tuesday will be 7:45-9 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 20 at the Ball State University Alumni Center.

Mike Rudicle, CIO for Eli Lilly and Company, will discuss the latest trends and outlooks in information technology for 2006.

The program, presented by IQuest Internet, is free.

Estate planning officers for '05-'06 named

MUNCIE -- Newly elected officers of the East Central Indiana Estate Planning Council for 2005-06 are: Linda Clark Dague, Dague and Buck, LLP, Attorneys, president; Thomas L. Foote, City Securities Corporation, vice president; Phillip M. Purcell, Ball State University Foundation, secretary; Marla K. Templeton, Whitinger and Company, Certified Public Accountants, treasurer; and Doug White, Merchants Trust Co. N.A., director.

The group of more than 75 estate planning practitioners from four counties meets quarterly.
