PepsiCo-Jordan’s sponsorship of the conference, which was organised by Rahaf Foundation and titled, “I Too Can Build My Country”, materialised through its participation in the job fair that was held as part of the conference’s activities along with a number of non-governmental entities and private sector companies. PepsiCo offered individuals with special needs the opportunity to review different employment vacancies that correspond with their qualifications and the requirements of the local labour market through collecting applications and CV’s that are compliant with the company’s needs. The company also displayed its activities to those participating in the conference and gave a brief overview of its products. Sufian Salman, the director of human resources and corporate affairs at PepsiCo-Jordan, said: “Our participation in this event is a continuation of our involvement in different issues that concern society, and comes as part of our support to different activities, especially those related to aiding people with special needs. We aimed through this sponsorship to better integrate all segments of society and contribute to increasing this specific segment’s confidence by investing in and harnessing their abilities towards supporting Jordan’s economic development.” wi-tribe launches ‘Wheel of Prizes’ campaign Broadband internet service provider wi-tribe recently launched a “wheel of prizes” campaign designed to reward wi-tribe Jordan customers and subscribers. Starting in February, new subscribers to wi-tribe’s broadband services, as well as existing customers that are renewing their subscriptions, will get the chance to spin the wheel and win one of many prizes on offer. “wi-tribe is celebrating this month,” said Bassam Hannoun, the chief executive officer of wi-tribe Jordan, “and we are celebrating by rewarding our customers. Umniah hosts gathering for employees To strengthen positive relationships between employees and management, Umniah organised last week an employee meeting that brought together all the company’s employees with the management team and Chief Executive Officer Ihab Hinnawi. The meeting was held to discuss Umniah’s accomplishments during 2009 across its mobile, Internet and business solutions services, as well as to exchange ideas and discuss the company’s future plans and projects for 2010. Hinnawi gave a presentation on the company’s future strategy as part of the company’s efforts towards involving all its employees in further advancing Umniah’s position in the local telecom market. The event also included a luncheon for all employees. TAG-College receives FIBAA accreditation The higher advisory board of Talal Abu Ghazaleh College of Business (TAG-College)/German Jordanian University held last week its second meeting during which the accreditation certificate by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) was granted to TAG-College in a special ceremony. Board Chairman Talal Abu Ghazaleh expressed satisfaction with the level achieved by the college saying that “with this accreditation, the college will be among the elite business colleges in the world.” The MBA programme at TAG-College has recently received accreditation by FIBAA. The accreditation procedure has verified and confirmed that the programmr has all the quality elements required by a master programme, including those specified in the European MBA guidelines. During the meeting, TAG-College professors delivered a summary of the college’s activities and achievements realised in the various administrative and academic fields. The meeting was attended Leonardo Ferrari, the executive vice president of the Naval Postgraduate School in the USA, and Kim Pungki from the Korean University who expressed their willingness to cooperate with the college in various academic disciplines. LG Electronics sponsors Dance K.O competition at Amman Baccalaureate School LG recently sponsored a Dance K.O competition at Amman Baccalaureate School where young participants seized the opportunity to show their talents and creativity in dancing. The winning teams were awarded with LG mobiles and the first lucky winner got $1,000. The event attracted 600 participants, thanks to Tempo and Pink Entertainment who organised this cheerful gathering for the third time. Eyad Alzaher, Levant General Manager Mobile Communication Sales at LG Electronics, said: “It is always socially rewarding to see LG take part in such youthful events that solidify our relations with the mobile phones technology lovers, the youth.
