[July 06, 2009] 'BT drops plans to adopt Phorm Webwise system' Tweet (DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BT has quietly dropped plans to adopt the Phorm Webwise online advertising system following protests from customers and privacy campaigners, reports The Guardian. A company spokesperson said it had decided to focus its resources on rolling out its next-generation super-fast broadband network instead. Phorm said it was looking to expand overseas and was in talks with ISPs in 15 countries.
