IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Broadcom Corporation , a global leader in wired and wireless broadband communications semiconductors, today announced that Alcatel has chosen its StrataXGS(R) III Ethernet switch silicon solutions for its new line of core switches, which are optimized for next generation enterprise networks. The Broadcom(R) StrataXGS III family of fully integrated switch chips enables Alcatel's OmniSwitch(R) 9000 family to deliver high performance, feature rich 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) switches for reliable and secure communication of data and voice, as well as for video broadcasting services.
