BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY FOR RURAL INDIA(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Arun Jaitley, the Minister of Finance, Government of India, has proposed to set up Digital India in his Budget 2014-2015 presented on 10 Jul 2014. Digital India will be a pan-India programme with a corpus of Rs500 crore aimed at ensuring broadband connectivity at the village level. The government has also proposed to set up a National Rural Internet and Technology Mission for services in villages and schools and training in information technology skills. |
