[May 25, 2013] BRIEF: Prep roundup (May 24): Colfax advances Tweet May 25, 2013 (The Leader-Telegram - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Nate Leibfried and Jarrod Rudi each drove in three runs as the fourth-seeded Colfax baseball team beat Boyceville 11-4 in the WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinals Friday in Colfax. The Vikings pounded out nine hits -- including doubles by Austin Lee, Jeremiah Harder and Sawyer DeMoe -- in a seven-run fourth inning. Division 2 (1) Black River Falls 4, (5) Bloomer 1: Nicholas Zeman led the Blackhawks with a two hits, including a double and an RBI, as Bloomer fell in a regional quarterfinal. Taryn Burgess also doubled for the Blackhawks. Division 4 (3) McDonell 10, (6) Gilman 0: Zach Gilles went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs to lead the Macks past the Pirates. James Davis took care of the Gilman offense, giving up one hit while striking out 10 with no walks to earn the win. Robby Ochs and Sam Sorensen added two hits each in the victory. (3) Augusta 3, (6) Eleva-Strum 2: Junior Nate Goodell delivered a pinch-hit walk-off double to give the Buffaloes the win. Quinn Kirchoff threw a complete game and recorded nine strikeouts in the win.
