BRIEF: Porterville man dies from gunshot wound


Jan 21, 2013 (The Porterville Recorder - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Tulare County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives are seeking information into the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old Porterville man and the wounding of another man Saturday night.



The TCSD reported Sunday that Osevio Anguiano Lopez died from a gunshot wound to the head. Another man was treated and released for his gunshot wound.

According to the TCSD, at just before 10 p.m. Saturday night, CHP officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and found the victim in the driver's seat, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. A second victim was a passenger in the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Deputies and medical aid were called to the scene.


The victims were reportedly in the area of the Woodville Labor Camp when an unknown subject or subjects fired at the victims while they were in their vehicle.
