BRIEF: Pierced kittens removed from Ross Township home

ROSS TWP., Dec 17, 2008 (The Times Leader - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Humane officers with the Luzerne County S.P.C.A. executed a search warrant at a home on Dobson Road and removed three kittens with piercings Wednesday afternoon.

Humane Officer Carol Morrison said three kittens with piercings in their ears, necks and tails were removed.

Morrison said kittens were advertised on an Internet auction Web site being sold as "gothic" cats.
"You're not allowed to sell live animals on eBay," Morrison said.
Morrison obtained a search warrant from District Judge John Hasay in Shickshinny at about 3:20 p.m., and executed the warrant at the home with assistance from state police at Shickshinny.

A person noticed the kittens on the Internet site and contacted the S.P.C.A., Morrison said.
