BRIEF: Israel Electric CEO quits over reform failure [Globes, Tel Aviv, Israel]

(Globes (Tel Aviv) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 23--Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) CEO Eli Glickman has told the board of directors that he intends resigning. Glickman has served in the position since April 2011.

Glickman said, "We have worked tirelessly on the subject of the reform in recent years. In the past year we have progressed substantially and come very much closer together to signing an agreement of principles on the reform. I have stressed and stress that leaving the situation as it is without a decision is the worst possible decision. The decision to thwart the reform has placed a heavy burden of responsibility on the shoulders of those who took the decision." He added, "In my meeting with the Minister of Finance, he explained to me that he has no intention of approving implementation of the reform of Israel's electricity grid and IEC." ___ (c)2014 the Globes (Tel Aviv, Israel) Visit the Globes (Tel Aviv, Israel) at www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/nodeview.asp?fid=942 Distributed by MCT Information Services
