BRIEF: IRS may have your refund(News & Observer, The (Raleigh, NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 23--The Internal Revenue Service is holding checks for more than 11,000 North Carolinians -- and it would like to get them to their rightful owners. This morning, the IRS issued its annual list of taxpayers whose refunds weren't delivered. This year, the list also includes economic stimulus checks that were returned by the U.S. Postal Service. Nationally, more than 279,000 economic stimulus checks totaling about $163 million and more than 104,000 regular refund checks worth about $103 million were returned because of mailing address errors.
