BRIEF: I-15 project to ease traffic in Hesperia

Jan 09, 2013 (San Bernardino County Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- High Desert residents will soon have new on- and off-ramps at the 15 Freeway in Hesperia.

San Bernardino Associated Governments, Caltrans, along with city and county officials plan to break ground Friday on the I-15/Ranchero Road Interchange project.

The $59 million project, paid with federal, state, local and Measure I funds, is expected to be completed in two years, Sanbag officials said.

It will allow motorists to access the 15 at Ranchero, Mariposa and Caliente roads. The addition is expected to alleviate traffic at the Main Street interchange.

The project also includes making three lanes in each direction on the bridge over the freeway.

The ceremony is from 10 to 11 a.m. at the corner of Ranchero and Mariposa roads.
