BRIEF: Hospital trustees named; CEO search narrows [The Mountaineer, Waynesville, N.C.](Mountaineer (Waynesville, NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 23--The Duke LifePoint 2014 board of trustees for Haywood Regional Medical Center has many familiar names on the governing board, including that of Frank Powers, who was the hospital board chairman prior to the community facility's sale to the private nonprofit healthcare provider. Powers will again serve as board chairman. Other board members include Neil Budde, Mark Clasby, Dr. Filberto Colon, HRMC Interim CEO Richard Grogan, Dr. Mark Kinter, Laura Leatherwood, Dr. Al Mina, Lois Pradka, RN, MSN, and senior director of Duke Quality Network; Maurice Phillips and Dr. Charles Thomas. All member terms end in September 2015. Duke LifePoint purchased the Haywood Hospital in August for $29.6 million and promised to invest a minimum of $36 million in the facility over the next eight years.
