BRIEF: Four fined in Dreambox services case


Nov 16, 2011 (Gulf Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- FOUR men were fined a total of BD5,000 for providing illegal Dreambox services to their customers.

They included two Bahrainis who run the shop and two Sri Lankan men who work for them.

The men were charged with linking digital receivers to the Internet, downloading codes of the Orbit-Showtime Network, unscrambling satellite signals and providing customers with a range of satellite packages at a fraction of the normal cost.



They were also convicted of insulting police officers who confronted the men and confiscated their illegal items, including 29 Dreambox devices.

The Lower Criminal Court fined the two Bahrainis BD2,000 each and the two Sri Lankans BD500 each.
