[June 02, 2012] BRIEF: Electronics stolen from Martin Library Tweet YORK, Pa., Jun 02, 2012 (York Daily Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Several electronics were stolen and spray paint was used on the walls at Martin Library in York recently when the library was closed. It's a loss that makes it harder for the library to put technology into the hands of patrons, said Brian Grimm, director of operations. Either May 26 or 27, while the building was closed, some individuals got into the building, found a key for a locked lab room, and stole an iPad, a laptop and several video games, Grimm said. It wasn't clear how they got into the building, and it's the only time he can remember the building being burglarized. "We've had some thefts, but that's usually during operating hours, and it's isolated," he said. Last weekend's vandalism left spray paint on the ground level, some of it saying, "Jason was here," Grimm said. There was no other damage to the building that he is aware of, but the loss of the electronics has set them back. Grimm said the electronics were purchased through a grant, and they are usually loaned out to patrons of the library. "When these things happen we have to start over again," Grimm said.
