SHELBY, Nov 10, 2008 (The Shelby Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A city resident recently reported a slew of items missing from her residence, including a desktop computer, comforter set and condoms.

The larceny on Concord Street, which was said to have occurred sometime between Saturday night and Sunday, resulted in more than $4,000 of items stolen, according to a report by Shelby Police Officer S.M. Treadway.

A laptop, DVD player, Nintendo Gamecube and $700 in cash were also taken, read the report.
"(The victim) and her son, who resides with her, were both at her mother's home ... when (the victim's) ex-boyfriend ... showed up," Treadway wrote. "After being there for a short time, (the ex-boyfriend) told (the victim) that her home had been broken into and that one of the screens on the front of the residence had been cut."

No suspect or witness information was listed in the report.
