Brainloop Appoints Bernhard Wobker as CEOMay 21, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Brainloop, a provider of solutions for enterprise-wide collaboration on confidential information and documents, announced that it has appointed Bernhard Wobker to serve as the company's chief executive officer. "Bernhard's experience, both running international companies and dealing with global enterprise clients, exactly matches the direction we are taking," said Hans Strack-Zimmerman, chairman of Brainloop's supervisory board. "The market for secure collaboration is rapidly changing, and we are at the forefront of these changes. We believe Bernhard can accelerate our growth and consolidate our European market leadership into a global market leadership." Wobker, who has stepped down from his role as a supervisory board member he has held since 2006, is a seasoned software and IT executive with extensive international experience in enterprise IT. He was previously president and CEO of Nixdorf, U.S.A., in charge of building up the company's U.S. operations from scratch. He also held senior positions at Pyramid, NeXT and Versant, and served as an advisor to Warburg Pincus. Until December 2012 he served as CEO, President and Chairman of Versant Corp. a NASDAQ listed company headquartered in Redwood City, CA. "I am delighted to serve as CEO. As a former supervisory board member, I have been working with the company for a long time and the prospect of executing strategy is something I am really looking forward to," Wobker said. "The company is in an exciting position; we are in a solid financial state, we have some of the world's most prestigious international companies and organisations as customers, and we have a new set of offerings that can change the market for secure collaboration. I intend to build on the success the former CEO has created to drive our growth internationally and our market penetration into enterprise customers." According to a release, Wobker takes on the duties and responsibilities of CEO, effective immediately. He succeeds Peter Weger, who served as CEO of Brainloop since 2008 and has stepped down from the role. Brainloop is a provider of SaaS solutions that enable customers to manage and collaborate on confidential documents and information inside and even outside their IT environments, with complete security.
