Bradford Networks Recaps 2008

Feb 03, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
In contrast to the overall economy, Bradford Networks announced that sales of its network access control (NAC) solutions for 2008 were up 87 percent over 2007.

In a release, the company stated:
- More than 120 new customers in energy, healthcare, financial services, education and government invested in Bradford's NAC Director and Campus Manager solutions to make their wireless, wired, and VPN networks more secure and efficient. New North American customers include Enbridge Gas Distribution, Health Policy Institute of Ohio, United States Naval Academy, Auburn University, University of Tennessee, and Mount Holyoke College.

- Internationally Transfreight Automotive Logistics, Kuwait Finance House, University of the Arts London, University of Limerick, University of Portsmouth, Kings College London, and University of Nottingham Malaysia were among the organizations that selected Bradford's out-of-band appliances.

"Organizations continue to be careful about spending, but they must address network security even if they are not making bandwidth or network upgrades," said Mike Gadoury, Bradford Networks founder and CEO. The new Conficker/Downadup worm, the worst virus in years, is just one example of the relentless threats IT departments must address.

"Increased regulation will impact many industries, further increasing the workload on stretched IT departments. Bradford solutions increase automation and integrate with existing systems to significantly reduce administrative loads."

- New products introduced in 2008 included Guest/Contractor Services, which secures and manages the increasing volume of freelancers and contractors flooding into the workforce as companies restructure their businesses. Three additional solutions - User Visibility and Control, Device Profile and Control, and Behavior Monitoring and Control - give IT teams visibility into who and what are on the network, where they are connected and what they are doing. All four solutions provide detailed audit trails for PCI, HIPAA, GLBA, FISMA, SOX, and UK GSi Code of Connection (CoCo) compliance reporting.

Bradford Networks develops advanced network access control solutions for wireless, wired and VPN networks.
