Boy who foiled bank fraud gets ... a calculator

(Evening Standard)A TEENAGER who foiled cash machine fraudsters, saving a bank thousands of pounds, was rewarded with a plastic calculator.

Luke Bridges, 17, tore a fake "skimming" fascia from an ATM in Westcliff- on- Sea, Essex, and fled from the waiting gang who had put it there.

NatWest said it would reward him for his bravery but all he received was a cheap calculator. Mr Bridges, a cashier with another bank, said: "I plan to send this thing back with a letter telling the bank they can use it to work out how much money I saved them."

NatWest said it had sent him a gift and CD vouchers.
