BitDefender said users wishing to test the beta product can subscribe on http://beta.bitdefender.com/, with those registering receiving e-mail notification of the first beta kit availability. The Total Security 2009 beta version includes features such as online backup, enabling users to backup sensitive data online to ensure security; increased privacy protection through instant messaging encryption, supporting Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Messenger; and increased storage protection with the File Vault secured storage space. Other features include improved integrated online security, with users being given a full range of proactive protection technologies for secure online activities such as shopping, banking, browsing and socialising, with web e-mail and instant messaging traffic scanned in real-time for spyware, viruses, phishing and identity theft attempts.
