Biscit to merge with V21

(DMEurope Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) DMEUROPE-14 August 2006-Biscit to merge with V21 (C)2006 DMeurope.com (http://www.dmeurope.com) & DME Ltd. All rights reserved.

UK broadband operator Biscit has agreed to merge with internet service provider V21.

Biscit sees the merger as a way of upselling its telco and bundled voice and free superfast broadband package, freeMAX, to V21's 43,000 customers. Commenting upon the merger, Biscit's CEO Hugh Paterson says, 'Merging with V21 fits perfectly with Biscit's forward strategy to compete directly with companies such as Carphone Warehouse, Orange and Sky. Our goal is to provide V21's customers with the products that will slash hundreds of pounds out of their voice and broadband costs each year.' The companies expect to complete the merger within 60 days.
