Big River and GLDS Collaborate for Eagle Communications

Cape Girardeau, Missouri (October 9, 2007) – Big River Telephone, a full-service telecommunications provider headquartered in Cape Girardeau, collaborates with Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS), to streamline VoIP billing for Eagle Communications, Inc.

Eagle Communications has trusted its rapidly growing customer base to both Big River Telephone who manages VoIP services for Eagle, and GLDS who manages billing. Collaboration between the companies allows Eagle to easily import call detail records generated by Big River Telephone into the WinCable billing and subscriber management system. The result is both an integrated triple-pay bill, as well as online presentment of call detail.

“I am impressed with the telephony module that is integrated into the Great Lakes system,” said Chris Simmons, General Manager of Big River Telephone. “The API [Application Programming Interface] that we were provided was a seamless solution to get required billing data into the system, onto the invoice, and ultimately out to the customer.”

Big River Telephone and Great Lakes Data Systems are committed to Eagle Communications’ long-term success in the VoIP market. This effort represents one of the ways both companies are working together to allow Eagle quicker time to market and ease of use for customers.

“GLDS has more than 20 voice partners and Big River Telephone is among the best,” said Garrick Russell, VP of Operations at GLDS. “Integration and testing went smoothly and, most importantly, Eagle Communications is happy,” Russell added.

General Manager of Eagle Communications, Rex Skiles, commented on the collaborative forces between the companies. “Eagle Communications has been a WinCable (GLDS) customer for many years. This, coupled with the recent partnership with Big River Telephone has been the catalyst for a monthly billing interface between the two systems. The billing is seamless to the customers, and Eagle is happy to have two companies behind them that work so well together.”
