[July 03, 2009] Bid to explode Quetta Express foiled Tweet QUETTA, Jul 02, 2009 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- Quetta police on Thursday foiled a terrorism bid to blow up Quetta-Rawalpindi bound passenger train, Quetta Express, after defusing 10-kilograms explosives planted by the track in Killi Zareen area, in jurisdiction of New Sariab police station, on Thursday, in outskirt of the city, police said. The police officials said that they had raided the area on tip-off about planting of explosive materials by the railway track in Killi Zareen, and stopped the Quetta Express, passenger train, at Sariab Station. Following stopping of the train, the officials called bomb disposal squad functionaries who reached and defused the bomb weighing 10 kilograms, the police official said, adding that the train departed to its destination, Rawalpindi, after declaring clearance of the track with the three hours late.
