BB: Tell us a bit about The Mall of Gambia? Adan: The Mall of Gambia is owned by Mustaqbal Express LTD, a company based in Dubai. The Mall has almost two hundred rooms accommodating various sqm to suit all businesses from SME's to larger corporations.

BB: Why the Gambia? Adan: Because The Gambia is in the stages of new development and I could foresee a vision of growth and future development and long term business plans. I started planning this venture since 2010 and when I came the area was in bad condition but I could see the opportunity to regenerate the area and glad to see my vision come into fruition.

BB: And why Serrekunda and not Senegambia? Adan: It has a bustling environment where we are situated at the gateway to one of the biggest markets in The Gambia -Serrekunda Market and the transportation network is good as we are based in a strategic location with easy access to airport, tourist areas; more importantly the growing middle class areas such as Brusubi, Bijilo and Taf Estate. As you look around now there is a new police station just opposite bringing confidence in safety especially for the evening as we are open from 10am-10pm and restaurant till midnight.

BB: Why a Mall? Adan: When we did our market research we noticed Gambian businesses especially the creative industry did not have a nice outlet that independent businesses could set up shop especially in such a busy area on a high road. So we decided to fill the gap hence The Mall of Gambia was born. We wanted an outlet that would attract the increasing classy middle class shoppers who have expensive and sophisticated taste who like and appreciate nice exclusive international luxury goods.

BB: What kind of businesses do you hope to attract? Adan: Various from ICT, fashion retail, banks, health & beauty products... .. in- fact we have already started the ball rolling by opening up a supermarket, restaurant and a beauty shop.We have electricity running 24/7, free WIFI and running water especially perfect for mini spas, hair salons, nail bars,... ... ... ...

BB: A beauty shop sounds interesting tell us more? Adan: We set up our beauty shop as they do in Dubai. Whilst catering to the climate and cultural needs our products come from Dubai where there is a big Beauty and fashion presence.85% of our perfumery products do not contain alcohol and are potent oils that are long lasting and effective pleasant scents? We also sell incenses, beauty creams and other luxury sensual goods for the beautiful and classy Woman of The Gambia.

BB: What other plans do you have for the building? Adan: Recently we have gone into an agreement with Beauty in Business Events & Pr to host weekly, monthly and yearly events, such as trade fairs, exhibitions, live entertainment, live big TV screening of live sport events and kiddies zone.

BB: What are your final words? Adan: Yes, we would like to welcome all national and international businesses to come on board to support this initiative. This is not our Mall it is your Mall that is for the Gambians to participate and enjoy. Thanks you Beauty In Business you are welcome.
